Terms of Service

Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and Align Labs (“Align”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Align platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Align connects qualified contributors with structured data work — AI response evaluation, data labeling, technical review, and fact verification — performed for project customers. We provide the workspace, task matching, quality review, and payment processing.

Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• Provide accurate registration and qualification information.
• Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
• One account per person.

Contributor relationship

You contribute as an independent contractor, not an employee. You choose which tasks to accept and when you work. Align does not guarantee task availability or minimum earnings. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, or partnership relationship.

Task work and quality

Follow the instructions and rubrics supplied with each task and submit only your own work. Submissions go through review; work that does not meet the stated criteria or these Terms may be rejected. Quality scores are computed from reviews and may affect your access to projects.

Payments

• The rate for every task is shown before you accept it.
• Approved earnings are paid on the weekly payout cycle to your connected payment method.
• Work that fails review may not be paid.
• You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings.

Confidentiality

Task content — prompts, model outputs, rubrics, and datasets — is confidential. Do not copy, share, publish, or use it outside the platform.

Intellectual property

Once a submission is approved and paid, ownership of that work product transfers to Align and its customers. Align retains all rights to the service, the Align brand, and the software that powers the platform.

Acceptable use

• No bots, scripts, or automation to complete tasks.
• No misrepresenting your identity, location, or qualifications.
• No multiple accounts or shared accounts.
• No circumventing quality review or time tracking.
• No unlawful, harmful, or abusive use of the service.

Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Earnings approved before termination are still paid out. Sections that by their nature should survive — including confidentiality and intellectual property — survive termination.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Align is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our aggregate liability is capped at the greater of the amounts we paid you in the three months before the claim or US$100.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will announce material changes by email and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
